Many thanks for those who took part. Watch for Next year!

The short rules for the Terry Nortley Relay Race, raising money for MS Society: Aprox. £400 raised!

Differing Relay Categories are used. Relay is a team to have 4 members, two Miles each leg utilising the Terry Nortley Mile which is around the edge of Close Park. Each member of the team will have their own number and hand over the relay baton. Times will be given for each mile/two mile split for each joggers/runner and total time

Registration opens at 10AM for the Team Leader to collect their team’s number and timing chip. First leg competitors have to be ready to set off at 11AM by the Dinasaur in Close park. Depending on the number of Teams, it may be a staggered start, with a gap of 15 seconds between groups of 5. Each runner runs by themselves and crosses each mat by themselves.

Friends of Close Park will be there to sell cakes/teas/coffees.

The full rules for the Terry Nortley Relay Race, raising money for MS Society:

You can run, jog or walk the course

2. The use of walking dogs and/or children is not allowed due to the nature of the speed of some competitors. Unfortunately this goes for wheelchairs and prams due to the terrain on parts of the course.

heading down the forest road. When a tarmac road is reached after 1.5K turn left and ascend 600 Metres up tarmac. This is a public road so be aware of traffic.
carry straight ahead over a cinder trail to a left turning down an orienteering path.
This path goes through a felled area of the forest which is a bit wet and rocky underfoot. Follow this trail for 0.8K to where it crosses two mountain bike trails (marshalled)
and re-joins the main forest road, turning right to run back to transition. The run route will be way marked with tape

not doing so results in being stopped to do so and if ignored, a two minute
    penalty is incurred.

Do not ride in transition but follow the marshal's instructions
out of transition, running with your bike to the mount area where you can
start cycling. The route goes out straight then left and right to utilise the underpass.

THE BIKE BIT: -
BIKE, 18 Km -You need to have your bike number attached to the front of your bike
and wear a number on your back and it needs to be visible.

Signs will be put out but, as always, it is up to you to navigate a safe course - look at
it/ try it out/ walk it if necessary.

Once at the end of the underpass (0.9K) turn right on the road, keeping to the left (normal highway rules apply)
At 1.5K turn right into the old centre. Be aware that this is also the entrance/exit to properties and although
they have been warned of the event, accidents do happen!

Ascend the twisty singletrack and cross a road at the top. Carry on to a junction left to descend down 'Flightpath' (2.5K).

This is classed as a BLACK Route, part of the TAWR Trail so can be stoney!
At the bottom of this descent (2.9K) turn right, follow this fire road, up to and straight past the turn off for the R74 (4.5K), bear right at the
next junction (4.9K). Keep ascending, ignoring any turnings off, turning
right only up ‘Camlan’ RED Route (Singletrack)(6.2K). From this point follow the TAWR trail, but missing out
‘Als loop’. Keep ascending until the fire road veers left from the TAWR trail going to
the right. At this point take the right path down the TAWR, 'Rocky Horror Show' RED Route(8.9K) (Rough Singletrack)
and descend down this path. Turn left at the end of the singletrack to ascend up to the forest road to turn right at the top.
(10.6K), descending for the majority of 1.5K.

A fast descent on forest road! Just before a farmers gate (12.5K), turn right and negotiate 'Mantrap', another singletrack section RED Route
A right turn at the end of this section (12.8K) and down the bridleway. Carry straight down, ignoring any right turns. This descends down
to the start of the R74 mountain Bike Singletrack (15.3K)

The R74 is classed as a BLACK Route. At the end of the R74, branch right to go through a gate, marshalled (17.0K), crossing the road
(Normal rules of the road). This leads to the underpass
to return to transition.

Dismount in the defined area at the entrance and run (or stagger, limp, crawl) with your bike to the rack.

Ensure that your helmet is fastened on your head until your bike is racked
